Hello June! There’s lots to do in Maryland this month.

Besides the cool events at Burnam Woods, Chatham Gardens and Old Orchard Apartments, there are some great events throughout Maryland this June.

This weekend, June 3-5, at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia ( just a few miles from Chatham Gardens Apartments in Howard County) is the nationally recognized 24th annual Capital Jazz Fest. This year’s lineup includes Toni Braxton, New Edition, En Vogue, Al B. Shore and many, many others. For details, please click here.

Next weekend on June 11-12 is the Colonial Market Fair at Benjamin Banneker Museum and Historical Park in Oella, just a few miles away from Old Orchard Apartments in Catonsville. If Pirates are more your thing and you live at Burnam Woods Apartments, then check out the Havre de Grace Pirate Fest at the Susquehanna Museum the same weekend (June 11-12). If you’re not totally exhausted by the end of the month, then make plans to attend the Chesapeake Crab and Beer Festival on June 25 at the Inner Harbor in downtown Baltimore. This Weekend in Maryland

After Tropical Storm Andrea blows through tonight, the weather should be nice this weekend for some great events across Maryland. In Columbia, Capital Jazz Fest is this weekend June 7-9. This year’s lineup includes Chaka Khan, Babyface, Eric Banet, Will Downing, and many more. Tickets range from $42-$175 per day. In their 36th season, the Salem Players are performing Annie Get Your Gun at Salem Lutheran Church in Catonsville this weekend June 7th and 8th at 8pm. If a free concert is more your scene, then go to the Avenue at White Marsh for their Party on the Plaza Concert Series. Music starts every Friday and Saturday night at 7:00. This weekend funk group Speakers of the House play Friday June 7th and rock group Late Ancients play Saturday June 8th. For a great Maryland tradition, get down to Hamden Hon! June in Maryland

Monday is Memorial Day and the unofficial start of Summer. There are many great events happening in Maryland in June to start your Summer off right! Although you don’t have to wait until June to enjoy the Party on the Plaza Concert Series at The Avenue at White Marsh. It starts this weekend and continues every Friday and Saturday night through August. These are free concerts with great musical acts each weekend starting this weekend with Nelly’s Echo and The Crawdaddies. Great Grapes Wine and Food Festival is at Oregon Ridge Park Saturday June 1-2 in Hunt Valley, MD. Admission is $27 in advance. Capital Jazz Fest is June 7-9 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. This year’s lineup includes Chaka Khan, Babyface, Eric Banet, Will Downing, and many more. This free festival is a living history with re-enactments of 18th century life. Columbia Festival of the Arts is June 14-29 at various locations in and around the Columbia Town Center Lakefront in Columbia, MD. This 16-day indoor/outdoor annual arts festival has both ticketed and free events. Starting in June and continuing through the summer are great Maryland Farmers’ Markets.
